Absences Finland
This component describes the method of handling employee Absences in Payroll Finland.
For handling employee Absences, Payroll Finland makes use of several features of the Standard SAP Time Evaluation, such as the:
· Time Evaluation Infotypes
· Time Evaluation Tables
· Absence Quotas
·
Time Evaluation report
(RPTIME00)
Absences may be either paid or unpaid. You can configure an absence type as a paid or an unpaid absence using the table view Absence Valuation (V_T554C).
In the standard system you can maintain the following kinds of employee absences:
· Illness Leave
Absences due to illness may be of either the paid or the unpaid type.
In the case of the Absence Type, Illness with Certificate, the absence can have both a paid and an unpaid portion.
The length of the paid portion depends on the seniority of the employee in the company. Payroll Finland determines the paid and the unpaid portion of this absence type using the Processing/split of absences according to coverage history function (XNAB).
In the following cases however, the system makes use of the Rule Group Feature for Coverage History feature (COVER) and Processing/split of absences according to coverage history function (XNAB) to determine the paid and unpaid portion:
¡ Absences that last less than a day
¡ Absences that are deducted from a quota
For example, in the standard SAP system, the employees are assigned to the different packages based on their employment:
...
¡ Metal Industry, Hourly workers – They are assigned to the Package ID MWORK
¡ Metal Industry, Salaried employees – They are assigned to the Package ID MSALA.

For example, 44MSALA and 44MWORK are the absence schemas in the Rule Group Feature for Coverage History feature (COVER)
You can configure the various parameters for the Absence Type and Illness with Certificate in the IMG under Payroll Finland -> Absences -> Valuation of Absences.
· Family Leave
¡ This type of leave includes Maternity, Paternity and Parental Leave. You can maintain the absence type using the Maternity Protection/Parental Leave infotype (0080).

To handle both Maternity and Paternity absence types, you need to set the Maternity Protection/Parental Leave infotype (0080) to gender as neutral. You can do so by using the Determine infotype admissibility for employees feature (MASEX).
¡ To configure the rules for the different types of family leave, use the following tables views:
§ Absence: Input Checks(V_T554S)
§ Rule Table: Absences for Maternity Protection (V_T554M)
· Military Leave and Military Reserve Duty Leave
You can maintain these types of absences using the Military Service infotype (0081). You can set this infotype with gender as neutral using the Determine infotype admissibility for employees feature (DFSEX)
To configure the rules for these absence types, use the following tables:
§ Absence: Input Checks(V_T554S)
§ Defaults for Absence Types (V_T554V)
You can configure the various settings for employee absences in the IMG under:
¡ Payroll Finland ® Absences
¡ Payroll Finland ® Reporting
