Definition

The time evaluation log for concurrent employment is a detailed log of the individual processing steps in time evaluation. The system creates the log for each day evaluated, and jointly for all of an employee’s personnel assignments that were evaluated.

Use

You can use the log to analyze any error situations that occurred and to test and check your Customizing settings.

Structure

The system displays the log when you run time evaluation using the RPTIME01 report or you run payroll using a payroll report that processes concurrently-employed persons, provided that you have:

·        Activated the Display log option for the RPTIME01 report

·        Activated the Also display time data processing log in the payroll report you use for concurrent employment

The log shows the processing steps of the time evaluation schema under the node of a personnel number for each day. The system differentiates between day processing and final processing.

Note

Day Processing of Time Data in Payroll does not contain a final-processing step.

·        Day processing

In day processing, the system displays a log entry for each processing step in the schema and for all of an employee’s personnel assignments or grouping values of personnel assignments. The structure of the log is based on the structure of the schema, not the sequence in which the business subjects are processed.

At the end of day processing, the system automatically generates the BUSUB COMP entry. You can use this entry in the test phase to check whether your Customizing settings for Concurrent Employment are consistent and, if required, synchronize your time evaluation business rules. If no error messages are listed under this entry, this means that all steps of the business rules were processed correctly.

·        Final processing

In final processing, the processing steps are sorted according to the personnel number evaluated.

Example

Mona DeLasandros has three personnel assignments. Personnel assignments A and B have been grouped for the Overtime MM20 business subject into a personnel assignment grouping value. The MM20 wage type is not assigned for personnel assignment C. All of her personnel assignments (A, B, and C) are grouped for the Night bonus MQ70 business subject.

Note

If you want to be able to group personnel assignments differently for different time-management tasks, you have to assign different grouping reasons for personnel assignments to the business subjects. For more information, see the Implementation Guide for Personnel Time Management and choose Time Evaluation ® Concurrent Employment in Time Evaluation ® Business Subjects of Time Evaluation ® Assign Business Subjects to Grouping Reasons.

In addition to the wage types MM20 and MQ70, the GWT M function generates other wage types, which are not assigned to a business subject.

The log outputs five entries for GWT M:

·        GWT M for time wage type selection rules that were processed only for personnel assignment A because their wage types are not assigned to a business subject.

·        GWT M for time wage type selection rules that were processed only for personnel assignment B because their wage types are not assigned to a business subject.

·        GWT M for time wage type selection rules that were processed only for personnel assignment C because their wage types were not assigned to a business subject.

·        GWT M for time wage type selection rules that were processed for the Overtime MM20 business subject for personnel assignments A and B.

·        GWT M for time wage type selection rules that were processed for the Overtime MQ70 business subject for all personnel assignments.

The personnel assignments processed each time are listed in the log.
