Data Pool 
Purpose
The data pool contains all the data that is needed to calculate business key figures for bank controlling.
Integration
Business partner data, bank transaction data, financial object data, and price parameters are stored in the data pool.

These include interest rates, securities prices, and exchange rates.

¡ External data transfer
SAP Banking contains a data transfer tool that you can use to bring together information from different operational system and hardware platforms. This tool brings about the flow of information from operational (source) systems to the data pool. This tool is also used to convert structures from operational areas into the data structures (both predefined structures and structures that can be customized) in SAP Banking. This requires very little programming effort, since most aspects are generated automatically.

You use the position generation function to determine position values based on single transactions.
This area contains the functions for contract currency changeover and issue currency changeover.
