Use

The interface to SABRE enables SAP Travel Planning to access the SABRE reservation system. With SABRE, you can search for travel services such as flight connections, hotel rooms, and rental cars, look at information on these services, and book or cancel them. This corresponds largely to the functionality that SABRE provides to travel agency front offices.

Integration of SAP Travel Planning and SABRE Interface

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

The SAP system communicates with SABRE through a client-side Web service implementation like that used for communication in XI environments. This Web service implementation integrates the SABRE Web service interface (see http://webservices.sabre.com) with the existing SAP Travel Planning application.
The SABRE Web service interface provides standardized Internet communication through Web services based on XML, SOAP, and OTA standards. This standardized communication enables the use of SAP Web AS as a client on the SAP side, eliminating the need for communication via remote function calls (RFCs) and the associated installation and maintenance of an RFC gateway.

Prerequisites

SAP Web AS, the Internet Communication Manager (ICM), and the Internet Connection Framework (ICF) must be installed and configured.

SAP Travel Planning (Release mySAP ERP 2004, SP04) must be set up in the SAP system as described in the Travel Management Implementation Guide.

SAP WinGUI 6.20 or SAP WebGUI 6.20 (patch 6 or 8) are prerequisites for access from user PCs.

Additional Information

The latest information and software for setting up a connection to the SABRE reservation system can be found in the SAP Service Marketplace:
