Explode Baseline

Use

You can explode a baseline interactively. The system determines the objects that describe the product.

Prerequisites

You have created a baseline and specified a target date for explosion.

You have requested the baseline for a target date.
You have assigned an explosion profile to the baseline.

Procedure

To explode a baseline:

In the replication workbench, select a baseline by choosing the Baseline tab page and entering its name.
Choose .

The system goes to the product structure browser and displays the baseline in its environment.

Select a baseline () by double-clicking on it.

The detail data of the baseline is displayed in the right-hand screen area.

To start the structure explosion, choose Baseline ® Explode or in the bottom right-hand screen area.

Note

If you have, for example, added to the baseline manually, and want to start the structure explosion for this baseline again at a later point in time, the system adds any new objects to the structure. However, the system does not delete or overwrite any objects that already exist in the structure. If an object has got into the structure by mistake, delete it manually.

Recommendation

When you repeat the explosion, the system only transfers the end nodes of the baseline structure for explosion. We recommend that you delete objects below the top objects in the structure.
