Specifying Packaging Hierarchies for a Material 

Prerequisites

You have edited the IMG activity Set Up Label Data Entry in Material Master in Customizing for Global Label Management.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Product Safety menu, choose Global Label Management ® Label Data in Material Master ® Change (or Create).

The Change Material (Initial Screen) or Create Material (Initial Screen) screen appears.

       2.      Enter a material number and confirm your entry.

       3.      Select the views you wish to use in the view selection and confirm your selection.

You can use the Label Data view to edit all data relevant to Global Label Management.

       4.      Select  Additional Data.

       5.      Choose the Units of Measure tab page.

The input help under alternative units of measure gives you the units of measure that you defined as packaging units in Customizing for Global Label Management.

       6.      Specify the ratios of the packaging units to one another.

Example

You want to build the following packaging hierarchy for a material:

·        Bottle with contents of 1kg (primary packaging layer)

·        The bottles are packed in two ways:

¡        Box containing 6 bottles

¡        Crate containing 15 bottles

·        One pallet (transport packaging) holds 600 bottles corresponding to 100 boxes or 40 crates.

Enter the following data:
