Setting Up Electronic Advance Tax Returns

Use

You can send reporting data to an authority with the Electronic Advance Return for Tax on Sales/Purchases function. To do this, you need to install different applications, configure them, and make settings in the Customizing of the SAP system.

Procedure

Set Up Electronic Communication with Authorities

To use electronic communication with authorities, you need to have made the following settings under General Ledger Accounting ® Business Transactions ® Closing ® Report ® Electronic Communication with Authorities ®

● Set Up Encryption for ELSTER (document)

This contains information on how you load the encryption technology from the SAP Service Marketplace and set it up.

● Set Up XI (document)

This contains information on how you set up the interface for SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI).

● Make Settings for Electronic Communication with Authorities

● Define Parameters for Electronic Communication with Authorities

General Settings for the Advance Return for Tax on Sales/Purchases

If you want to transfer tax data on sales/purchases using electronic communication with authorities, you also need to make the following general settings for the sales/purchases tax return. You make these settings in the Implementation Guide for Financial Accounting under General Ledger Accounting ® Business Transactions ® Closing ® Report ® Sales/Purchases Tax Returns ®

● Define Tax on Sales/Purchases Groups

● Group Tax Base Balances

● Group Tax Balances

● Assign External Tax Group to Internal Tax Group

● Enter Amounts for Advance Payment of Tax on Sales/Purchases

Assign Authorizations

The authorization object FOT_B2A_V also needs to be assigned to your user so that you can change, display, and transfer reporting data.

Result

You can transfer the data to an authority once you have edited all activities, assigned the authorizations, and Structure link created the reporting data. For more information about this, see Electronic Data Transmission to Authorities.
