Documents
Depending on the process and your enterprise, you may want to add additional information and explanations to the recipe data defined in the standard system by adding, for example, a mnemonic name, standard operating procedures (SOPs), or a plant graphic. This information may be relevant to one or more recipes. They may be available in completely different formats, for example, as texts, graphics, or video sequences.
This section describes which functions you can use to add documents to your recipes.
To integrate centrally managed documents and non-textual documents with your recipes, the following requirements must be met:
· You have defined the necessary documents in SAP Document Management. These documents are of a document type that has been configured for use in recipes (see Customizing for Recipes, IMG activity Set Up Link to Document Management).
·
The
Documents view is active in your
recipe types (see IMG activity Recipe Settings).
Assigning documents from SAP Document Management:
You
can store documents that you want to manage centrally in SAP Document
Management and link them to your recipes.
All the data formats
supported in document management are then available to you. Document
management also supports you in managing different document versions as well
as in controlling and documenting the document releases (see
Document
Management).
You can display and print the document assigned as well as the original files from within the recipe. If necessary, you can also enter a long text about the document link.

Once they have been released, you can no longer
change recipes for which status management is active. If you
still want to assign more documents to released recipes, you can activate this
function in the recipe type (see Customizing for Recipes, IMG activity
Recipe Settings). You edit these document links to released
recipes in a separate tab page called
Documents After Release. All
other recipe data as well as existing document links may not be
changed.
You
create and edit document links on the
Documents tab page or after the recipe
has been released, on the
Documents After Release tab
page.
