Offer Letter
Offer letters are internal documents in either Adobe ® PDF or Microsoft ® Word format drawn up by the HR Department containing detailed information on the compensation package a global employee is offered, such as gross salary, social security deductions, net salary and allowances.
The offer letter is generated on the basis of the information you have stored in infotype Compensation Package Offer (0706).
In addition to the standard HR master data infotypes, you must have maintained the infotypes for Management of Global Employees, especially infotype Compensation Package Offer (0706).
Also, you must have performed the necessary customizing for offer letters in the Implementation Guide for Management of Global Employees under the section Compensation Package > Compensation Package Items Characteristics > Offer Letter.
Once a suitable candidate has been found and the length of the global assignment has been defined, the HR department sets up a compensation package, usually with the help of a third-party provider. For more information, see also the Planning Phase process.
The offer letter is automatically generated and submitted to the host-based manager and the global employee. Both of them can either accept or reject the offer.
