Definition

A tour consists of a number of individual visits and corresponds to a shipment to which a driver and a vehicle are assigned. The visit list for a tour represents the customers to be serviced on that tour. A visit is assigned to one customer only. Multiple visits can be created for the same customer.

Each visit consists of one or more activities. Activities represent actions to be performed by the sales representative at the customer site. The following is a list of possible activities:

·        Deliver pre-sold order

·        Sell and deliver without pre-sold order, that is sell directly from truck

·        Take order for future deliveries

·        Invoice (used in manual invoice generation)

·        Collect payments

·        Return delivery

·        Take return order for future pickup

Use

The work that needs to be done displayed in a list of visits and activities. The visit contains all customers to be visited and the activity list contains the actions that need to be performed at each customer’s site.

Sales representatives can also create unplanned visits and activities. Once these are created, they are processed in the same way as pre-planned visits and activities.

Activities are linked to their associated transaction documents (deliveries, invoices, orders, etc.)
