Further information about reference family and persons, specifically about the employee’s dependents, are entered in the Family Infotype: Information about Dependents (0397).

This infotype is an extension of Infotype 0021, through which it is viewed and updated.

Infotype 0021 contains general information about the employee’s family. Specific data required by Brazilian law and business practice is collected in Infotype 0397.

Data stored in this infotype is used for calculating the employee’s legal benefits deducted from the payroll, such as income tax, educational allowance, and child allowance.

The Dependent information infotype contains the following fields:

Date of expiration of the dependent’s vaccination card.

The vaccination certificate must be submitted to the employer for the employee to be entitled to receive child allowance.

Indicator that records the existence of a dependent with disability. It entitles the employee to receive child allowance, as long as the dependent is examined by a medical expert at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).

Indicates whether the dependent is eligible by law for child allowance.

Indicates whether the dependent is eligible by law for income tax deduction.

Indicates whether the dependent is a smoker. This information is used in the Benefits module for determining costs and contributions.

Indicates whether the student dependent qualifies for certain benefits.

Indicates whether the dependent is eligible by law for an educational allowance.

This section defines the type of course at the school attended by the dependent. It may be: regular, supplementary, or special schooling.

This section contains information about the schools attended by the dependents, together with the respective registration number in the Taxpayers’ Roll (CGC, Cadastro Geral de Contribuintes).
