Automatic Creation of Follow-On Document Records 

Use

If a follow-on document (a material document, for example) has been created in a processing step of an entry document, the system creates a follow-on document record and includes it in the follow-on document table for the entry document. The follow-on document table contains all the follow-on document records for the entry document and therefore all the follow-on documents that were created during processing steps. As a result, the processing steps are documented and dependencies are saved.

You can check the whereabouts of the waste, for example, by displaying the follow-on documents for an entry document (see Follow-On Document Display).

Features

In the following functions, one or more follow-on document records are created:

·        Entry Document Split

In the follow-on document records, the entry document references other entry documents that were created when it was split.

·        Post

In the follow-on document record, the entry document references the material document that was created when the entry document was posted.

·        Post Change

In the follow-on document record, the entry document references the material document that was created when the posting of the entry document was changed. The follow-on document table also contains, in addition to this material document and among other things, the follow-on document that was created when the entry document was posted.

·        Purchase Order and Order & Clear

In the follow-on document record, the entry document references the purchasing document used to carry out the purchase order.

·        Material Document Cancellation

In the follow-on document record, the entry document references the material document that documents the cancellation. The follow-on document table contains, in addition to this material document and among other things, the original material document that was canceled.

·        Clear and Order & Clear

In the follow-on document record, the entry document references the material document that was created when the entry document was cleared. In addition to this material document, the follow-on document table contains the follow-on document that was created when the entry document was posted.

·        Creation of a Disposal Document

In the follow-on document record, the entry document references the disposal document that was created.
