Use

You can send messages to the presentation devices of one or more resources via the TRM Monitor.

Procedure

The procedure varies, depending on whether you invoke the method from:

Site

  1. Display the site objects. For more information on displaying objects, see Using Basic Monitor Functions.
  1. From the ALV, select the row corresponding to the site and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Message to Resource dialog box appears with the names of the resources displayed on the left in the Resource area.

  1. From the hierarchy tree, right-click the icon to the left of the site object and choose Send a message from the pop-up menu.

  1. From the Resource area, choose one or more resources to which to send the message.
  1. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. The Add Predefined Message window appears.
  1. Type the subject of the message and choose Enter.

The subject appears under Predefined Messages and, like all predefined messages, can be used repeatedly.

  1. From Predefined Messages, double-click the message you want to send.

The subject text appears under Free-Text Message.

  1. Type the body text of the message.
  1. If you want to add the time to the message, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  1. If you want to add the date to the message, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  1. From the Priority drop-down list, choose a priority for the message.
  1. Save the message.

Resource

  1. Display the resource objects.
  1. From the ALV, select one or more rows corresponding to the resources to which you want to send a message.
  1. From the hierarchy tree, select one or more resource objects.
  1. From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Message to Resource dialog box appears with the names of the selected resources displayed on the left in the Resource area.

  1. Right-click and choose Send a message from the pop-up menu.
