Procedure documentation Creating a Financing Source Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

A financing source is the main unit of funding used in Expenditure Certification (PSM-EC), and is linked to a particular operation used for certification.

A financing source is always defined for a particular financing source type, which must exist in Customizing. The following graphic illustrates this relationship:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Since a financing source can also contain only partial amounts of the financial assistance given to an organization, the individual contribution rates are defined using percentage rates.

You can create the structure and naming of financing sources to reflect the respective sponsor's funding policy.

Prerequisites

To define a financing source, you must access the back-end system and make the necessary Customizing settings in the Implementation Guide (IMG) by choosing Public Sector Management ® Expenditure Certification  ® Define Time Slices and Patterns and Define Financing Source Type.

See Customizing for Certification and the online IMGdocumentation for details on what needs to be done here.

Procedure

Proceed as follows:

       1.      Access the financing source maintenance screen in the Enterprise Portal.

       2.      Choose Create and enter the required financing source type  (FS type) in step 1.

       3.      Proceed to step 2, and specify the financing source ID for your new financing source.

       4.      Proceed to step 3 and specify the following:

       In the Header Data section:

       Short and long description

An intervention, if required for the FS type you are using

Levels, if required for the FS type you are using

       Document, posting, and payment dates

       Funding category

       External reference

In the Revenue Account Assignment section:

       FM Area

       Fund

       Funds Center

       Commitment Item

       Function Area

       Funded Program

       Grant

       5.      Proceed to step 4 and enter budget as either maximum contribution or expenditure ceiling, depending on what was specified for the FS type you are using.

Note

No budget documents are created by the entries you make in PSM-EC. Changes are recorded in the change history, but no change or budget documents are created.

No data changes in Financials (FI) or Funds Management (FM) either.

       6.      Proceed to step 5 and enter the performance indicator(s) you want to use.

       7.      Proceed to step 6 and review your entries. I

You can return to previous steps from here to make any necessary changes.

       8.      When you are satisfied, save your data.

You can now access the transaction again to display the financing source you just created or to create new financing sources.

To display other financing sources, leave the portal, then open it again and access this transaction. Once in the display, it is possible to switch to change mode and change data.
