Texts
You use this function to add texts to recipe data.
·
You
can use your own tab page to enter long texts if the
Long Texts view is active for your
recipe types (see the Recipe SettingsIMG activity).
·
You
specify in Customizing for Recipes in the IMG activity Define Properties
for Specification Category, whether text formats are allowed in
long texts (on the
Long
Texts tab page).
If text formats are not permitted, you can enter the long text straight onto the relevant tab page. If text formats are permitted, you can only enter the long text straight onto the tab page if no formats already exist in the relevant long text. If formats do exist, edit the long text in the SAPscript editor.
Recipe Management provides the following options for adding information to your recipes:
·
Defining a language-dependent long text for the
recipe, the dependent process elements, and all building blocks on the
Long
Texts tab
page
· Defining language-dependent short texts in the recipe:
You can enter one short text for the recipe in every system language. This text serves as the mnemonic description of the recipe. Depending on the logon language, it is displayed in addition to the recipe name, for example, in the Recipe Management navigation area or in the recipe header line.
· Defining language-dependent long texts in the recipe:
You can enter a long text for every short text. It is firmly assigned to the recipe and cannot be used in any other recipe.
You can use the SAPscript editor with its formatting options for text processing. The short text is displayed as the first line of the long text for the recipe. When you process the text, note that character formats, such as bold or italic, are displayed as control indicators in the short text.

If required you can include centrally managed standard texts in the recipe text. You have the following options:
· You insert the text as a reference (include). When you print the text or display the print preview, you obtain the most recent text version.
· You delete the reference when you insert the standard text, which means you copy it and tailor it to the recipe.
·
You
specify a long text for the recipe on the
Long Texts tab page. You can translate
this text and display it. The dialog box, in which the text is displayed,
remains open when you leave the tab page.

You can only enter the text in the logon language.
· You enter short texts for the recipe and change them in the appropriate field.
·
To
create or change a long text, choose the
symbol
with the quick info Enter Long Text beside the short texts or in the
menu bar.
You can then choose Insert ® Text ®Standard to insert a standard text in the long text.
