Function documentation Specification-to-Waste Assignment Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to assign one or more Structure linkspecifications to a waste.

Prerequisites

·        You have created the material and specification that you want to link together for the waste.

·        For the material-to-specification assignment described in the Features section, the specification must belong to a specification type for which the Mat. assignment indicator has been set under Specify Specification Types in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools.

Features

You can link the material to a specification for a waste as follows:

·        Material-to-specification assignment in Basic Data and Tools or in the material master (see Editing Specifications for Wastes)

You should use this type of link for all wastes for which you have created specifications. For more information about material-to-specification assignment, see Structure linkAssignment of Specifications and Materials in the Basic Data and Tools documentation.

This link enables the waste codes that you assigned to the corresponding specification in the property tree in specification management, for example, to be proposed automatically when you assign the waste to a disposal document (see Assigning Waste Codes).

·        Entering the specification for the waste generation, waste disposal, or waste transport in Waste Management

You should only use this type of link in addition to the link described above. It should only be used if a waste that is generated, disposed of, or transported in several places in your enterprise has properties in one or a small number of waste generations, waste disposals, or waste transports and these properties differ from the specification in the material-to-specification assignment, in other words the properties are specific to the waste generation, waste disposal, or waste transport.

Note

The specification entered for the waste generation, waste disposal, or waste transport is only used for information purposes. This means that, for example, the waste codes that you assigned to the corresponding specification in the property tree in specification management are not proposed automatically when you assign the waste to a disposal document.
