Overall Network Scheduling with Selection
Option
You can use this function to execute overall network scheduling and thereby define which networks are to be scheduled.

If you want to use this function, use hierarchical project structures with subnetworks instead of cross-network relationships. If you use relationships, they are taken into consideration only in the following cases:
· If they exist between networks on the same level
· If they exist between a network without a level and a network with subnetworks
· If they exist between a network without a level and subnetworks that represent levels

When you create subnetwork structures in projects, ensure that the actual level definitions correspond to the entries in Customizing. The system does not check if the combination of level and network parameters in Customizing corresponds to the combination in the actual subnetwork structure.
· In Customizing for the Project System under Define Levels for Networks, you have defined levels for the networks.
· In Customizing for the Project System, you have implemented the BAdI Overall Network Scheduling with Selection Option.
· You are authorized to schedule the selected networks.
The following table provides an overview of the individual functions:

What You Should Know |
Date Types |

You can select which type of dates you want to schedule. |
Selection |
|
Here, you see in detail which networks to be scheduled are part of your selection. In addition, you have an overview of networks that are not directly part of your selection but are linked to the selected networks via relationships and are, therefore, taken into consideration as constraints during scheduling. |
Customer Fields |
|
If you have defined additional selection fields in the customer include structure CI_AUFK, you can display these and enter selection values. If you have not defined fields, this pushbutton is hidden. |
Subnetwork Monitor |
|
In the upper area, you see all activities of the selected networks; in the lower area, you see the subnetworks of the activity that you selected in the upper area. If there are date conflicts, these are indicated by traffic lights; for example, if the dates of a subnetwork do not lie within the framework defined by the superior network. You can branch to different places from the monitor: ·

Selection of Networks |
|
You can restrict the networks to be scheduled using the selection parameters under Network Selection. Note that you can schedule across two levels only.
If you do not enter a level in the selection, the system determines a main level. This is the highest level in the network structure to which the networks in the selection belong. To determine the main level, the system uses the levels from Customizing. Only networks that belong to this main level are selected. Scheduling across two levels is therefore only possible if you define these two levels in the selection parameters. In addition, you can decide if you want to schedule the selected networks or only their subnetworks.
If you choose Selected Networks, only networks that are assigned to a level in Customizing are selected. If you choose Only Subnetworks, all subnetworks of networks that are assigned to a level in Customizing are selected, irrespective of whether the subnetworks themselves are assigned to a level. Under Dates of Superior Networks, you can prevent the date of a superior activity being copied to the subnetwork by choosing Do Not Copy.
