Testing the Tax Data Retrieval in the External Tax System 

Purpose

To ensure that the communication is properly configured, you must test the tax data retrieval in the external tax system.

Process Flow

In order to test the external tax system, dummy RFC-enabled function modules were created in the SAP system to simulate the external tax RFC functions. The RFC-enabled function modules can be tested with the SAP Function Builder Test Utility.

You can test the following:

·       Jurisdiction code determination

·       Tax calculation

·       Tax update

·       Tax forced update

It is imperative to perform these tests and check its results before continuing with further configuration. These tests may also be useful to resolve customer problems.
