Defining Profit Center Status (Background Processing) 

Use

When you activate or delete profit centers, the system performs various checks, which in some cases can have a long runtime. If a large number of profit centers have the status Inactive: Change or Inactive: Delete, it is useful to have them activated together in the background.

However, ensure first that all inactive versions are correct and that they should replace the active versions. If this is not the case for individual profit centers, choose Edit ® Remove Inactive Version for individual processing. Only once you have done this should you then collectively activate the remaining inactive versions in the background.

The same applies for the profit centers with the status Inactive: Delete. Check whether all profit centers with this status should actually be deleted. You can exclude individual profit centers from deletion by choosing Edit ® Remove Inactive Version in individual processing. After doing this, you can then activate the remaining versions together in the background, which, in this case, results in the versions being deleted.

Procedure

In Customizing for Profit Center Accounting, choose

·        Master Data ®Profit Center ® Activate Inactive Profit Centers, or

·        Master Data ®Profit Center ® Delete Inactive Profit Centers
