Concept Group
The concept group is a logical collection of functionally related concepts for a component variant.
The concept group is used as follows:
· It has a sorting function, in that it bundles different concepts for a component variant.
· It is a store of information, because it contains information that is valid for all assigned concepts.
A concept group contains all implementation options for a component variant. A concept group can comprise any number of concepts.
The following overview shows the
essential data of a concept group
,
which is valid for all assigned concepts. This data is entered on
several tab pages.

List of concepts |
This list contains all the concepts
for a component variant. · Name of the concept · Indicator specifying whether the filter is active · Description · Material · Quantity and unit of measure · Digital mockup (DMU) document More detailed data of a concept is on the detail screen. |
|
Classification |
You use classification to maintain the class assignment for the concept group. Classes of class type 053 (iPPE Nodes) are defined for classifying concept groups. The characteristic value assignment dataset contains the characteristics of all assigned classes. |

Basic Data |
The administration data gives information about the creation of and changes to a concept group. |
In Customizing for Product and Process Engineering, the settings for processing concepts are defined:
· For iPPE application concept, iPPE node type S_CON (concept group) and iPPE variant type S_CONST (concept) are defined.
·
The iPPE model assignment between concept
group and concept is defined.
This assignment determines, for example, that you can assign any number of
concepts to a concept group.
You can only create and
maintain a concept group from processing functions for a product structure
(
component
variant).
