Vehicles 
Use
Passenger cars – and buses with a capacity of not more than ten people – depreciate at a rate of 20%, as long as the acquisition and production costs do not exceed THB 1,000,000. If a vehicle costs more, you can still only claim THB 1,000,000 depreciation.
You can configure the SAP System to depreciate all such vehicles accordingly.

Define a depreciation key for vehicles in Customizing for FI, by choosing Asset Accounting ®

Maintain Depreciation Key:
- In the depreciation key header, enter the maximum amount method from step 1.
- In the depreciation key methods, enter base method 0007 for ordinary phase 1.
This instructs the system to continue depreciation after the end of the useful life, if the depreciation is not more than the maximum amount.
Define Maximum Base Value for Depreciation Per Acquisition
Here, you stipulate that the maximum depreciation base when you post an acquisition is THB 1,000,000.
- Specify a maximum
depreciation base of THB 1,000,000 for acquisitions, in Customizing for FI, by choosing Asset Accounting ®

Define Maximum Base Value.
Enter this amount for the vehicles asset class.
Specify that the multilevel method uses this maximum base value, in Customizing for FI, by choosing by choosing Asset Accounting ®

Define Multilevel Methods. Set the base value to 05 (maximum base value).
Enter the multilevel method in the depreciation key.

Master Data
Assign the depreciation key to all asset master records for vehicles meeting the above criteria.
Periodic Processing
When you execute a deprecation run, the system:
- Uses a maximum of THB 1,000,000 as the depreciation base
- Does not post more than THB 1,000,000 on the asset
