Function documentation Storage Bin Transfer Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to transfer wastes that are in Structure linkstorage bins in Structure linkWarehouse Management (Warehouse Management System) in the SAP Logistics Execution component.

Integration

See Post.

Prerequisites

·        The waste quantities from the entry documents have been posted to Warehouse Management.

·        You have processed the IMG activity Set Inventory Management in Waste Management in Customizing for Waste Management and specified the required movement types. If you have not specified a movement type, the system uses the movement type 999 (warehouse supervision).

·        All wastes in this storage bin whose contents are to be transferred have been created for the Structure linkstorage type. This means that the Warehouse Management 1 view has been created in the material masters for the storage type into which the waste is to be transferred.

·        If there is already a material in a storage bin into which waste is to be transferred, additions to existing stock and if required, mixed storage must be permitted.

Features

You use this function to transfer the entire contents of a storage bin (in other words, all quants). No withdrawal takes place and various wastes are transferred if mixed storage in storage bins is permitted.

Example

If you have posted the waste quantities in five entry documents to a storage bin and then execute this function for only one of these entry documents, the waste quantities in all five entry documents are transferred and all five entry documents are changed accordingly. This means that entry documents that you did not select before executing this function are also changed.

When you transfer waste, you can specify whether the start of the maximum storage period is to be updated (Upd. stor. strt indicator), for example if a maximum permitted storage period begins again as a result of the waste being transferred. The system then adopts the current system date as the new start of the maximum storage period (see Monitoring of the Maximum Permitted Storage Period).

A transfer order is created, which is immediately confirmed. As a result, waste is posted to the specified storage bin in Warehouse Management. A quant is created or the quantity of a suitable existing quant is increased. However, the system does not check whether the storage bin can take the waste. For more information, see the Warehouse Management documentation, for example Structure linkThe Quant and Stock Management in WM or Structure linkWarehouse Structure in the Warehouse Management System.

The entry documents are given a defined status that depends on the settings you made in Customizing. They must have a particular status so that you can execute this function. For more information, see Setting Entry Document Statuses.

Activities

Proceed as follows to transfer the contents of a storage bin:

...

       1.      Choose Disposal Processing ® Edit Entry Documents in the Waste Management menu.

The Choose Entry Document Category dialog box appears.

Note

This dialog box only appears the first time you access disposal processing after you have logged on to the SAP system. The next time you access disposal processing, the system automatically uses the entry document category that you chose last time.

If you mainly display and edit entry documents of one entry document category, you can predefine this entry document category in your user profile.

       2.      Choose the entry document category of the entry document containing the waste with the storage bin that you want to transfer and confirm your entry.

The Disposal Processing Change screen appears.

       3.      Enter the search criteria for the entry document and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info Hit List.

The entry documents that correspond to the search criteria are displayed under Doc. overview.

       4.      Select the entry document and choose Transfer location.

Note

You can only ever transfer the contents of one storage bin in one step. In other words, if you select several entry documents, they all have to contain the same storage bin data. However, you do not need to select several entry documents since all entry documents containing the same storage bin data are updated in any case (see Features section).

       5.      Enter data as required and save your entries.

The storage bin data in all the entry documents with the corresponding storage bin data is updated.
