Printing Labels
· You have edited the following IMG activities in Customizing for Global Label Management:
¡ Specify Labeling Scenarios
¡ Set Up Generation Server for Label Generation
¡ Install Program for Label Printing on Workplace PC
· You have determined labels and have reached the label tree screen.
...
1. Choose a printer and check whether it contains the correct label stock.
2. Choose the label you want to print by double-clicking.
Label data and the number of labels to be printed are displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.
3. Check the data and number of labels that have been displayed, and make changes if necessary.
4.
Choose
Print.
5. If the system finds that the data to be printed will not fit onto the label, the Label Printing: Data Overflow dialog box will appear. You can reduce the validity areas here, so that the label contains less data. Proceed as follows:
...
a. Select the validity area you want to delete, that is, the one for which you do not want any data to be printed.
b.
Choose
and confirm your entries.
The system will try to print the label again. If the data fits onto the label, it will be printed. If it does not, the Label Printing: Data Overflow dialog box will reappear. If this happens, repeat the last two steps until the label is printed.

You can use the
Display/Print function to force the
system to print the label. The system will print the label even though the
data does not fit onto it.
However, you can only reduce validity areas and force the system to print the label if you have the correct authorization (authorization object C_EHSG_MP1, Label Printing).
The label is printed. In some cases, the system will also log certain printing data.
