Material Name, Material Number 

Determining the material name is dependent on the shipping reason.

·        Triggering report shipping manually

¡        If you have entered a long text in the SAP Material master component, the first 132 characters of the basic data long text are displayed in the logon language.

¡        If no basic data long text exists, the material short text is displayed in the logon language.

¡        If no material short text exists, the identifier that the SAP system determined in accordance with the identification listing D_MATNAM is displayed.

¡        If no appropriate identifier exists, the specification key is displayed as the default value.

Determining the material name is done in the same way as determining the default parameter value (see Default Parameters for Reports).

·        Triggering report shipping automatically

When shipping is triggered from the SAP Sales and Distribution component, the material sales text is displayed if you have set the environment parameters SRE_DS_TDID_DELPOS and SRE_DS_TDID_ORDPOS accordingly. For more information on the environment parameters, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters.

If you have not entered a material sales text, the SAP system displays the article short text.

The following symbols are available for the material name:

§         Symbol for material names on reports

This symbol belongs to symbol group 04 and always has a single value assignment.

§         Symbol for material names on cover sheets and acknowledgements of receipt

This symbol belongs to symbol group 08 and can have multiple value assignments by default parameter determination. This enables you to display all material names of a report shipping order package on a cover sheet or acknowledgement of receipt.

You define default parameter determination for symbol groups in the IMG activity Specify Report Symbol Groups in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools.
