Comparing Reports 

Prerequisites

·        The reports you want to compare must have one of the following statuses:

¡        R1,...(Release 1, ...)

¡        RE (Released)

¡        RY (Ready)

¡        GS (Gen. successful)

¡        HI (Historical)

·        You must have assigned values to the environment parameter REPORTS_COMPARE_EXT in the IMG activity Specify Environment Parameters in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Product Safety menu choose one of the following paths:

¡        Reports ® Report Information System

¡        Reports ® Report Management ® Edit Reports

¡        Reports ® Report Management ® Validate Reports

¡        Reports ® Report Management ® Release Reports

¡        Reports ® Report Management ® Assign Report Versions

¡        Reports ® Report Management ® Set Reports to Historical

       2.      Enter your search criteria and choose  with the quick info text Report Tree.

If the SAP system finds one or more reports that fulfill your search criteria, the Report Management: Report Tree screen appears.

       3.      Select the two reports you want to compare using  with the quick info text Select Subtree.

       4.      Choose Extras ® Report Comparison.

Result

Depending on your PC installation, the display application is started, for example, Microsoft Word. The report you selected first is displayed and the differences between it and the second report are marked.

You can compare any two reports. If you select one report only, the SAP system compares it automatically with its released previous version.
