Procedure documentation Configuring Shipment and Transportation Scheduling in SAP APO Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

As of SAP APO 3.0, SAP APO offers a central service for performing shipment and transportation scheduling for the sales and supplying systems. The following section describes the settings for shipment and transportation scheduling.

Prerequisites

You have transferred master data and transaction data from the connected sales and supplying systems to SAP APO.

For more information on the prerequisites for shipment and transportation scheduling, see Shipment and Transportation Scheduling.

Procedure

  1. Create condition tables for scheduling. You make this setting in Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) under Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Transportation and Shipment Scheduling ® Define Condition Table for Scheduling. Create a field catalog with the permitted fields and define the condition tables according to your requirements.

Note

Condition tables are not delivered with the standard system.

Example: Condition tables

  1. Maintain the accesses to the condition tables. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Transportation and Shipment Scheduling ® Maintain Access for Scheduling. The following access sequences are delivered (without accesses).

Example: Accesses (access sequence LOAD (loading time))

Note

Scheduling uses the procedure SCHEDL that is delivered by SAP and cannot be changed.

  1. Maintain a weight group for scheduling. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Transportation and Shipment Scheduling ® Interfaces ® Maintain Weight Groups for Scheduling.

Example: Weight unit in KG

Gross: 9,999,999,999.999 for weight group 0001.

  1. Maintain a volume group for scheduling. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Transportation and Shipment Scheduling ® Interfaces ® Maintain Volume Groups for Scheduling.

Example: Volume unit in L

Volume: 9, 999, 999, 999.999 for volume group 0001

  1. Maintain the condition records for scheduling. From the SAP Easy Access screen choose Master Data ® Master Data for Transportation and Shipment Scheduling ® Create Scheduling Step.

Note

In SAP APO, times and dates are generally calculated using a UTC timestamp. In R/3 the system converts to the time zone of the customer/plant. At this point in time, the calendar (work days of the customer/plant) is not taken into account during calculation.

Note

The delivery time is dependent on the issuing plant/customer time zone. Calculation in detail:

  1. Create the mapping fields for scheduling. In Customizing for Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) choose Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) ® Transportation and Shipment Scheduling ® Interfaces ® Perform Field Mapping for Scheduling.

Example: Field mapping for scheduling

LOCFR

WERKS

/SAPAPO/DM_MAP_WERKS_TO_LOCFR (standard mapping module for plant number to the location)

MATNR

EXT_MATNR

/SAPAPO/DM_MAP_EXTMAT_TO_MATNR (standard mapping module for R/3 material number to the APO product number)

  1. Activate scheduling in the sales system. In Customizing for Sales and Distribution, choose Basic Functions ® Delivery Scheduling and Transportation Scheduling ® Define Scheduling by Sales Document Type.

Example: Define scheduling by sales document type
