Grouping Personnel Assignments
The system uses
this function to decide which
personnel
assignments of a concurrently employed person it must process separately
or together. The personnel
assignments are grouped differently depending on the business aspect of the
processing, for example master data maintenance, benefit eligibility check, or
payroll.
The grouping is based on the principles:
Grouping Reasons for Personnel Assignments
Grouping Rules for Personnel Assignments
Grouping Values for Personnel Assignments
The following components use this function:
● Personnel Administration
● Benefits
● Time Management
● Payroll
In Customizing for Personnel Administration under Basic Settings ® Basic Settings for Concurrent Employment ® Editor for Personnel Assignment Groupings, you have checked the Customizing settings and adjusted them to your requirements where necessary.
Each program that must group the personnel assignments for certain processes is assigned a grouping reason. In Customizing, the grouping reason is assigned a grouping rule. The grouping rule defines how the personnel assignments are grouped.
A grouping reason can be assigned several grouping rules simultaneously. The following types of assignment exist:
· Customer-specific country-specific assignment
· Customer-specific cross-country assignment
· Country-specific standard assignment
· Cross-country standard assignment
Only one of these assignments is valid for a given period. To determine which grouping rule it must use, the system checks the assignments in the sequence specified above. For more information, see Checking the Grouping Rules for a Grouping Reason.
The same grouping rule can be simultaneously valid for several grouping reasons.
The system processes data for the grouping reason XXB1 (Benefit Eligibility) for a concurrently employed person. It uses grouping rule XXB0 (Grouping By Benefit Area) to do so. This grouping rule assigns the current benefits area to which the personnel assignments of a concurrently employed person belong to the personnel assignments of that person as grouping value. When checking benefit eligibility, the system processes all personnel assignments together that belong to the same benefit area.
