Use

In addition to creating and processing material assignments, (see also Structure linkCreating Project Objects), there are also other material management functions available in the Project Builder.

Features

After you have selected a material component in the structure overview or the component overview, you can execute the following functions:

Some of these functions are only available in particular overviews, for example, in the component overview.

Availability check

Edit ® Availability ® Material

If you have selected the availability check in Customizing for the Project System, the system carries out an availability check for the selected material components.

Resetting the availability check

Edit ® Availability ® Reset Material

Resets the confirmed data and quantities of the availability check.

Check capacity availability

Edit ® Availability ® Capacity

If capacity requirements are generated for an activity, the system checks whether the capacity is available for the time specified.

Change procurement type

Edit ® Component ® Procurement

If required, you can change the procurement type (for example, reservation for a network or for a WBS element).

Display purchase requisition

Edit ® Component ® Purchase Requisition

Displays the purchase requisition (if it exists)

Change delivery address

Edit ® Component ® Delivery Address

Changes the delivery address – only for third-party orders.

Change invoicing plan

Edit ® Component ® Invoicing Plan

Changes the invoicing plan for externally procured material components.

Explode the bill of material

Edit ® Component ® Explode BOM

You can only execute this function in the component overview. For more information, see Exploding the Bill of Material.

Reassign

Edit ® Component ® Reassign

You can only execute this function in the component overview. You can reassign material components within a network.

Align activity duration with component delivery time

Edit ® Component ® Transfer Delivery Time ® Duration

You can only execute this function in the component overview. For more information, see Aligning Activity Duration with Material Lead Time.

Align requirements date to the activity finish date

Edit ® Component ® Alignment with Finish Date

You can only execute this function in the component overview.

If you want to define the duration of the delivery time, you must realign the finish date.

Copy component data

Edit ® Component ® Copy Component Data

Copies the data of a material component to another (however, only within a network).

This menu entry contains various functions for batch management. You can only execute these functions in the component overview.

Assign PS text

Edit ® Component ® Assign PS Text

If you have assigned a PS text to the superior activity, you can also assign this text to the selected material components.

Delete an assignment to a PS text

Edit ® Component ® Delete PS Text Assignment
