Function documentation Article Master in SAP Retail Store Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to display article master data, process master data for local articles, and park master data for new local articles.

Internet Application Component (IAC) type

Intranet component

Features

This function is similar to article master maintenance in SAP Retail but with a few minor differences. From the complete article master, you can only display and change the data that is relevant for your store. By defining a layout in Customizing for SAP Retail Store, it is possible to adjust the layout of the maintenance interface to suit your particular requirements. You can park master data records for new articles but you cannot create them directly. This enables an approval process by headquarters. The system stores parked article data as data records in the price catalog function. In normal PRICAT inbound processing, employees at headquarters have to convert these data records into article master data records and enter any missing information.

·        When defining a layout for the maintenance dialog, define the tab pages, the assignment of master data fields to the tab pages, and the maintenance properties of the fields. You can decide whether fields are for display, ready for input, or mandatory.

Note

During definition, SAP Retail Store differentiates between the program tasks Change and Park. In display mode, the function uses the layout of the program task Change but only displays the fields. The reason for separating the program tasks is that not all data that is to be displayed can be parked by the store. This data is completed at headquarters during PRICAT inbound processing.

·        When displaying and changing article data, you can search for the article you require using different criteria. If several articles match the criteria you have specified, you can select the article from a list of results.

Note

Typically, you can display or change the following data:

·         Basic data

·         New EAN

·         Plant-specific logistics data (for example, reorder point, minimum stock)

·         Plant-specific purchasing data

·        You can park articles in the store using SAP Retail Store. The system stores this data in price catalog tables (PRICAT). An employee at headquarters copies the article data from the price catalog using PRICAT inbound processing. The system takes the data entered in the store, creates the article in the system, and lists it using a local assortment module in the requesting store. When creating articles, employees at headquarters can modify and add to the data in the store. Enter the following data:

¡        Basic data (EAN, measurements)

¡        Purchasing data (for example, price, vendor article number)

¡        Sales data

¡        Other information (free text)

Note

Before you can park an article, you must first check whether it already exists in the system using suitable selection criteria.
