Use

You can search for Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) train connections, order a ticket, and reserve a seat directly from SAP Travel Planning.

If settings for a major customer ticket with the Deutsche Bahn and a BahnCard exist, the applicable rates are taken into account when the price is displayed and when you order the ticket.

Prerequisites

You have made the required settings in Customizing under Deutsche Bahn.

Procedure

Querying the Connection

You have called up the Planning Manager and entered the personnel number for the traveler.

       1.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Rail with quick info Add Rail Request.

The Rail Request dialog box appears.

Enter the date, time, start and destination.

       2.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Avail. - with quick info Availability Query (F8).

You might need to enter a specific train station.

       3.      Select the required and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Select.

Reserving Your Ticket and Seat

...

       1.      You can now specify whether you want a ticket with or without seat reservation.

You can enter different preferences for a seat reservation.

       2.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Continue.

The train connection is now added to your travel plan.

Booking

After selecting all the other travel services required, you can book all the requests for this trip:

...

       1.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Book with quick info Book Travel Plan (Ctrl+F11).

The trip is booked through the connected reservation system. A PNR is created and is later displayed in the Existing Travel Plans list in the planning manager.

       2.      Now save the travel plan.

Issuing the Ticket

The ticket is issued by the travel agency or travel center and forwarded to the traveler.
