Entering Search Criteria for
Reports
In Customizing for Product Safety under Specify Report Applications you have defined the report applications for whose objects you want to search. As standard, the report applications Specification Master, Material Master, Work Area, and Accident Victim are supplied.
In the Product Safety menu you have chosen one of the following paths:
· Reports ® Report Information System
· Reports ® Report Management ® Edit Reports
· Reports ® Report Management ® Validate Reports
· Reports ® Report Management ® Release Reports
· Reports ® Report Management ® Assign Report Versions
· Reports ® Report Management ® Set Reports to Historical
Enter your search criteria. You can restrict the search according to:
· Report category
· Report language
· Validity area
· Validity date
Depending on the starting path, you can also search for:
· Different report statuses
The status of
the report directly after it has been generated depends on the
generation variant
indicators.
·
A specific
generation variant
and a specific generation period

In the report information system, searching according to report
status and generation variant is not possible. In the report information system, only released reports are displayed
that are organized according to report category. (The report category is
determined via the generation variant.) In the report
information system, you can also search for reports without a
specification reference (see
Label).
You can specify objects in the following report applications as search criteria if required:
· Specifications from specification management
· Materials from the material master
· Work areas from work area management
· Accident event (combination of the key for the incident/accident log entry and the address number of the person involved) for the person affected
If you enter only the report category Accident notification in the initial screen as the search criterion, the SAP system first searches for all generation variants for the report category Accident notification. All combinations of the log entry key and the person are taken into account here. Every combination is displayed in the report tree. By entering search criteria such as log entry key or person, you can restrict the number of combinations.

The SAP system
always takes only the search criteria for the currently selected report
application into account during the search (see
Example: Using
Application Objects).
