Partner Search Partner by Different Attributes
The business partner search Partner by Different Attributes is part of the F4 search help for the SAP Business Partner for Financial Services.
You use this search help to search for a combination of different, thematically independent search criteria. The search criteria for the search help are:
· Business partner numbers, such as the internal and external business partner number, customer and vendor number
· General search criteria
· Address data
· Bank details / credit card details
· BP role
The phonetic search for name fields is set at default for German-speaking countries in Customizing for the SAP Business Partner for Financial Services, under Settings for Financial Services -> General Settings -> Business Partner Search -> Set Phonetic Search.

SAP recommends you do not make any changes to these settings when the system is running. You will find further information in the documentation for the IMG activity.
The search help Partner by Different Attributes is created using Business Data Toolset (BDT) technology. You will find further information on the BDT in the SAP Library under SAP Business Partner for Financial Services -> Business Data Toolset
You will find further information about the search helps for the SAP Business Partner for Financial Services by choosing Business Partner Search.
Compared with the other F4 search helps, the Partner by Different Attributes search help offers a more complex search function:
· You can activate the Phonetic Search for Name Fields under the Control tab page, in order to include business partners with similarly written names in the hit list.
By making the corresponding phonetic search settings in Customizing, this would enable you to include business partners named Lea or Leigh in the hit list when searching for business partners named Lee, for example.
When you activate the phonetic search, the system generates a phonetic search term from the business partner’s first and last names. This search term is then compared with the phonetic search terms that exist in the system. All the business partners that match the generated phonetic search term are displayed in the hit list.
· Under the Control tab page you can exclude certain business partner categories from the business partner search, to reduce the size of the hit list, or improve the performance of the search.
By not setting the Group and Organization indicators when searching for the business partner Denise Smith, for example, you could prevent the system from searching for business partners that belong to the category Group or Organization.
· You can determine the maximum length of time in seconds that the system should spend searching for the business partner. Once this maximum time has been reached, the system terminates the search, and displays the results it has found during this time.
· You can determine a layout for the search template.
To achieve a result with this search help, based on the search criteria you have entered, the following conditions must be fulfilled:
· You have entered at least one search criterion, the field for which is indexed in the corresponding table.
· When the index is displayed, this field appears in first place in the index fields table (or in second place, if the first place is occupied by the client).
· The first character of the search term you have entered is not a placeholder. Other fields being used as a limitation can start with a placeholder.

You can find indexed fields either with the Index pushbutton on the Display Table screen, or in the task menu for the Business Data Toolset in the Search Help, under Search Configuration -> Search Fields.
