Base Mode-of-Transport Category 
The concept of base mode-of-transport categories allows you to create your own mode-of-transport categories and assign them to a base mode-of-transport category.
In the system, base mode-of-transport categories are programmed on which all mode-of-transport categories in the standard system and any customer-specific mode-of-transport categories are based. The system is not designed for you to create your own base mode-of-transport categories: The base mode-of-transport categories in the standard system cover the requirements of all dangerous goods regulations.

In the standard system, these base mode-of-transport categories are assigned the mode-of-transport categories with the same names: Road (01), Rail (02), Inland Waterway (03), Sea (04), Air Cargo (05), Air Passenger (06), Tanker (08), and Pipeline (20).
In Customizing for Dangerous Goods Management, you can create your own mode-of-transport categories and assign them to the base mode-of-transport categories. Examples for this are:
