Creating
Recipes
You use this procedure to create a recipe, which means you create the first change state of the recipe. If required, you copy the change state of an existing recipe.
● You have defined the required recipe types and their properties (see Customizing for Recipe Management, IMG activities Set Up EH&S Customizing, Recipe Settings, and Versioning Settings).
● If your recipe type specifies that a change master record is to be used for editing, a change master record must have been defined in engineering change management. The required valid-from date and the following object categories must be active in this change master record:
○ For recipe editing, object category Recipe Management
○ For formula editing, the additional object category substance. In recipes with dependent formulas, you also need this object category for recipe editing.
A change number identifies the change master record.

1.
Choose
Recipe in the recipe workbench
by double-clicking it. The initial screen of the Recipe Information System is
then displayed.
2.
Choose
with the quick info text
Create.

You can only create recipes if you have already called up the Recipe Information System once before.
3. If you want to copy a change state of an existing recipe, enter the selection data of this change state in the Source section. If you want to create a new recipe, leave the fields blank.
4. In the Target section, choose the recipe type of the recipe you want to create. The recipe key, which uniquely identifies the recipe, is either assigned automatically or you can specify it.
5. If necessary, enter validity dates or an engineering change number.
Note that the key date and the valid-from date of the change number must not be before the current date. If you enter a key date and change number, the change number data is used.
6. Confirm your entries.
The
Basic Data tab page appears.
7. Enter the basic data of the recipe and save it.
The first change state of the recipe is created with the data you entered. Depending on your system settings, it is either assigned the number 1 or a key determined by your own criteria (see Customizing for Recipes, IMG activity Set Up Name Assignment for Change States).
