Purpose

To create digital signatures, you need a digital certificate of class 3 or level 3. This type of certificate provides a high level of security. The certificate attests the owner’s identity, who has to be physically present when the certificate is purchased at the certification authority (CA).

The Belgian Social Insurance only recognizes digital certificates issued by Certipost® or Globalsign®. Test certificates from Globalsign® or Certipost® are not accepted (when using for example the DIMONA test FTP server).

The format of the purchased certificate has to be PKCS#7 and must have been generated based on your PKCS#10 certificate request.
