Structure Overview and Project Structure Overview 

Use

You can use the structure overview to flexibly evaluate the structure of your project according to different criteria. The system displays the basic structure of the project in the overview. To display all objects in one level, you can expand the structure by choosing the node next to the level of the objects you wish to view.

In addition to the structure overview (transaction code CN41), you can also use the project structure overview (transaction code CN41N), which is a user-friendly version of the structure overview. However, it does not have the full functional scope of the structure overview:

·        When you define profiles for calling overviews, the project structure overview only takes into account the data in the subscreens Filter criteria and Objects to be Shown. For more information, see Customizing for the Project System under Informaton System ® Technical Project Reports ® Define Profiles for Calling Overviews.

·        You cannot reuse selection variants from the structure overview (transaction code CN41) in the project structure overview (transaction code CN41N). However, you can create standard selection screen variants that are specific to the project structure overview.

·        Plan versions, project versions, and customer-specific fields are not supported in the project structure overview.

Integration

·        From the structure overview, you can display detailed information in the form of individual overviews and detail screens for single objects in the list (see Working with the Structure Overview / Project Structure Overview).

·        From the project structure overview, you can display detail screens for individual objects.

Features

From the structure overview you can:

·        Call up the period breakdown by choosing Goto ® Period Breakdown.

·        Create a Microsoft Project (MPP) file for the project definition or a WBS element (see Working with the Structure Overview / Project Structure Overview)

·        Display original documents for objects that appear in the overview (see Working with the Structure Overview / Project Structure Overview)

From the structure overview (transaction code CN41) and the project structure overview (transaction code CN41N) you can:

·        Export project data to external applications

To export data to Microsoft Access, for example, choose Evaluation ® Export ® MS Access.

·        Display project objects in graphics

From the project structure overview, you can display only the structure graphic, work breakdown structure graphic, and network graphic.
