Official value-added tax (VAT) invoice used in Taiwan
Companies have to issue Government Uniform Invoices (GUIs) upon the sale of goods or services, for down payments, credit memos, debit memos, and sales returns.
Use
In Taiwan, local tax offices use GUIs to track the VAT that companies pay and receive. In turn, companies use the information contained in vendor and customer GUIs to create their
VAT returns for submission to the tax authorities.Country Version Taiwan offers a number of features alongside the generic SAP System functions, to enable you to handle both vendor and customer GUIs and so create your VAT returns.
Structure
In addition to information such as the material description, the price, and the VAT amount, GUIs have to state the following:
Integration
Given that VAT reporting in Taiwan has to be done at
business place level, customer GUIs are issued at business place level and vendor GUIs are posted at business place level. Therefore, all relevant taxable transactions contain a field for you to enter your business place and a reference field for either you or the system to enter the GUI number.
