Transferring Bills of Material Manually 

Prerequisites

·        See the “Prerequisites” section in Bill of Material Transfer.

·        For manual transfer, you must have set the environment parameter BOMBOS_WL_DIALOG in Customizing for Product Safety under Specify Environment Parameters and Conditions.

Using the environment parameter BOMBOS_WL_DIALOG you can choose whether:

·         The display of the worklist is skipped and the composition is generated automatically

·         The bills of material (BOMs) are displayed in the worklist You decide yourself whether a composition should be generated

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Product Safety menu, choose Tools ® Bill of Material Transfer ® Edit Worklist.

       2.      Enter your search criteria and choose  with the quick info text Hit List.

The Display Worklist screen appears. The worklist is displayed as a tree with the following structure:

The following key sequence is displayed for the bill of material: material number - plant - usage - alternative.

To display detailed information, click the BOM or specification in the tree.

To display the meaning of the icons, choose  with the quick info text Display Color Legend.

       3.      To switch to edit mode, choose  with the quick info text Display <-> Edit.

Assigning a Missing Specification-Material Assignment

       4.      Below the specification for which the  icon is displayed, click Specification.

The system displays the Specification data group box with the Specification field.

       5.      Select the specification to which the BOM material is to be assigned and confirm your entry.

The specification is transferred to the worklist.

If you do not assign a specification, the SAP system creates a specification during generation.

Resetting an Error Entry

       6.      Select the BOM for which the  icon is displayed.

       7.      Choose  with the quick info text Error Entry for...

       8.      If the error is displayed because the material is assigned to a number of specifications, you can:

¡        Assign a specification as described above

¡        Alternatively, allow the system to create a new specification

Generating the Composition

       9.      Select the BOMs for which the composition is to be generated.

   10.      Choose  with the quick info text Execute.

   11.      Choose  Log to display the log.

When you exit the worklist, you must save if you want the changes to be transferred.

Result

The composition is generated if the BOM items

·        Match the check criteria you defined in Customizing

·        Are each assigned uniquely to a specification

The specification key is displayed in the worklist as a branch with all its components and the calculated proportions. The specification is assigned the identifier NUM BOM (material number, plant, usage, alternative).
