Output of the evaluated messages and objects in the form of an interactive ALV list.

Features

Transaction EMMA saves all jobs and batch jobs and assigns a unique run ID to them. For dialog transactions that output application logs, EMMA only determines the information required from the database on demand.
The transaction EMMA shows the total number of objects processed for both successfully processed and terminated jobs, and proportionately thereof, the number of successfully processed objects, the objects with errors, and the number of objects for which the system has issued warnings. This makes it easier for you to determine the cause of errors, such as missing Customizing, missing details in the master data, locks, exceptions, or program errors. The transaction EMMA also provides you with direct access to the messages output as a result of errors in the programs or during processing.
With Enhanced Message Management, you can automatically convert the error messages output in the application logs into clarification cases. The system categorizes the error messages, groups them by business object (for example, contract account) if necessary, and places them in the clarification worklist. If the same error occurs in different business objects (for example, Missing Customizing), and this error can be rectified centrally, in the corresponding clarification case category, the system only creates one clarification case for all business objects concerned.

Note If you want to evaluate application logs created before the introduction of Enhanced Message Management, you first have to load the existing logs with the report REMMAOLDMA.

Activities

...

You can create clarification cases in the background or online:

·        To create the clarification list in the background, in the areas Prepare and Delete, choose those activities you wish to execute and then run the program. Make sure you read the documentation for the selection fields. Processing takes place completely in the background. The clarification list is not automatically output afterwards.

·        To display the clarification list online, enter the parameters that you want to use to select the logs and then execute the program. The data is output in an ALV list that you can process with the standard functions of the ALV Grid Control and that you can download as spreadsheet. For a detailed description of the information output at the different levels, see the section Data Output.
