Procedure documentation Using the Loading/Unloading Point Tool Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

       1.      From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Logistics ® Logistics Execution ® Yard Management ® Loading/Unloading Point.

The Location dialog box appears.

       2.      In the Yard field, enter the yard number.

       3.      If you want loading/unloading instructions to be printed when you register the start of loading/unloading or loading/unloading by delivery, do the following:

...

                            a.      Select Print Ins.

                            b.      In the Printer field, enter the name of the printer from which the instructions are to be printed.

       4.      Choose Enter.

The Loading Registration screen appears.

Note

If you have set a particular yard as the default in your user data (System ® User Profile ® Own Data), the Loading Registration screen appears immediately after invoking the loading/unloading point transaction.

       5.      If you want to switch to unloading mode, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Unloading Registration screen appears.

To switch back to loading mode, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

       6.      Enter search criteria. You can enter search criteria according to your way of working.

Example

If you want to view a list of all the vehicles expected to arrive at a door within a certain time period, you could enter time parameters in the Date and Time fields.

If you want to enter search criteria only when a vehicle actually arrives at the door, you could enter criteria such as reference document or license number/container ID.

Note

If you want to add further selection criteria, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

If you want to display a previously saved variant of the selection criteria, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

If you want to clear any entered values from all of the search criteria fields, enter This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.  

       7.      Execute. The search results appear in the bottom ALV, displaying details for each relevant vehicle such as:

¡        Processing status

¡        Current location

¡        Vehicle details such as license number, container ID and forwarding agent

¡        Reference document

¡        Stock status of the vehicle

Note

You can add your own fields to the ALV. For more information, see Layouts in the SAP Library for ALV Grid Control (BC-SRV-ALV).

       8.      You can now perform the following functions:

A loading activity is created with status of 2 Started.

The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to yellow.

Register finish of loading

...

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The status of the loading activity changes to 4 Completed.

The status traffic light in the ALV changes from yellow to green.

The vehicle’s stock status changes to 03 Full (when the display is refreshed).

Register start and finish of loading by delivery

...

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Select Deliveries dialog box appears, displaying the outbound deliveries assigned to the vehicle.

       3.      Select the lines corresponding to the outbound deliveries that you have loaded on to the vehicle and choose Enter.

If you selected all of the deliveries assigned to the vehicle:

·        A loading activity is created with status of 4 Completed.

·        The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to green.

·        The stock status of the vehicle changes from 1 Empty to 3 Full.

If you did not select all of the deliveries assigned to the vehicle, the Loading Status Check dialog box appears, displaying the query message Remaining deliveries are to be loaded later?

If you choose Yes:

·        A loading activity is created with status of 2 Started.

·        The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to yellow.

·        The stock status of the vehicle changes from 1 Empty to 2 Partially full.

If you choose No:

·        A loading activity is created with status of 4 Completed.

·        The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to green.

·        The stock status of the vehicle changes from 1 Empty to 3 Full, and the remaining deliveries are un-assigned from the vehicle.

Create sealing activity for vehicle

...

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Sealing dialog box appears, displaying the license number and container ID of the vehicle.

       3.      Enter one or more sealing numbers and then choose Enter.

A sealing activity is created with status of 4 Completed.

The entered sealing numbers appear in the Sealing Number fields of the vehicle’s ALV record (if you have elected to display these fields in the ALV).

Create weighing activity for vehicle

 

 

 

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose  This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Create Weighing Activity dialog box appears.

       3.      Follow steps 4 onwards in Creating a Weighing Activity.

A weighing activity is created with status of 1 Planned or 4 Completed.

If you entered a weight, the entered weight appear in the Vehicle Weight field of the activity’s ALV record (if you have elected to display this field in the ALV).

 

 

 

 

 

Schedule location for vehicle

...

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Display Scheduling Activity dialog box appears, displaying the system-determined scheduling time and location.

       3.      Choose Enter.

 

 

 

A scheduling activity based on the system-recommended time and location is created in the background, with status 1 Planned.

The scheduled location class, location and start time appear in the ALV record for the vehicle.

Note

If the yard manager has already scheduled a location for the vehicle, it is this time and location that appears in the Display Scheduling Activity dialog box, rather than the system-recommended time and location. In this case, choosing Enter does not affect the existing scheduling activity.

Create movement activity for vehicle

...

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Create Movement Activity dialog box appears, displaying the following:

¡        Source location class and location

¡        System-determined destination location class and location

       3.      Follow steps 4 onwards in Creating a Movement Activity.

A movement activity is created with status:

·        1 Planned, where the movement has not been created with auto-confirmation

·        4 Completed, where the movement has been created with auto-confirmation

 

 

Unloading a Vehicle

       3.      Enter one or more sealing numbers and choose Enter.

An un-sealing activity is created with status of 4 Completed.

Register start of unloading

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

An unloading activity is created with status of 2 Started.

The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to yellow.

Register finish of unloading

...

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The status of the unloading activity changes to 4 Completed.

The status traffic light in the ALV changes from yellow to green.

The vehicle’s stock status changes to 01 Empty (when the display is refreshed).

Register start and finish of unloading by delivery

       1.      In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

       2.      From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The Select Deliveries dialog box appears, displaying the inbound deliveries assigned to the vehicle.

Select the lines corresponding to the inbound deliveries that you have unloaded from the vehicle and choose Enter.

If you selected all of the deliveries assigned to the vehicle:

·        An unloading activity is created with status of 4 Completed.

·        The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to green.

·        The stock status of the vehicle changes from 3 Full to 1 Empty.

If you did not select all of the deliveries assigned to the vehicle:

·        An unloading activity is created with status of 2 Started.

·        The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to yellow.

·        The stock status of the vehicle changes from 3 Full to 1 Partially full.

Schedule location for vehicle

Same as for loading a vehicle

 

 

 

 

Create movement activity for vehicle

Note

You can switch to the loading/unloading point of another yard and maintain its settings by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and repeating steps 2-4 above.
