Definition

Instructions and technical information provided for employees by the operators or users of installations, technical equipment, working procedures, substances, or preparations with the aim of avoiding accidents and reducing health risks. This includes the protection of property and the environment.

When you produce standard operating procedures (SOPs), you must take into account the required safe-practice directives in industrial hygiene and safety and accident prevention regulations, safety and occupational health rules, and special handling advice provided by the manufacturer in operating instructions.

Use

Using a generation process you can create standard operating procedures from the data you have entered in the SAP System. The finished document is produced in the form of a report.

You can generate standard operating procedures for agents, work areas, and activities. You specify which sections and which information the various documents contain by creating a template layout. See Report Template Creation Example: Standard Operating Procedure.

Structure

The standard system includes a template for a standard operating procedure in accordance with German hazardous substance directives. The following graphic shows which system data can be included in standard operating procedures:
