Sealing and Un-Sealing 

Definition

Sealing is a yard activity performed after a vehicle is fully loaded, while un-sealing is a yard activity performed before unloading commences for a vehicle.

 

Use

Sealing and un-sealing activities can be created and executed by any of the following users:

·        Yard managers via the yard monitor. For more information, see Creating a Sealing or Un-Sealing Activity.

·        Desktop users via the loading/unloading point tool. For more information, see Using the Loading/Unloading Point Tool.

·        RF users. For more information, see Sealing or Un-Sealing a Vehicle.

When sealing or un-sealing is executed for a vehicle, a sealing activity is created with status of 4 Completed.

You can make sealing a precondition of check-out for all vehicles in the yard by setting the Sealing indicator in Customizing for Logistics Execution ® Yard Management ® General Settings ® Define Yard.

You can make sealing a precondition of check-out for a specific vehicle in the yard by setting the Sealing indicator when creating the vehicle. For more information, see Creating a Standalone Vehicle.
