Translating Characteristics Hierarchies 

Using this function, it is possible to translate all language-dependent texts in a characteristics hierarchy. The source language is the original language.

Procedure

...

      1.      Choose Accounting ® Bank Applications ® SEM Banking ® Market Risk Analysis or Asset/Liability Management ® Master Data ® Characteristics Hierarchy ® Translate.

The system displays the dialog box Choose languages.

      2.      Choose a Source and a Target language.

      3.      Choose Continue.

A list showing all characteristics is displayed.

      4.      You can select individual characteristics by marking them.

      5.      Select Choose.

You reach another list screen, where you see all of the texts for the selected characteristics available for translation. You will see the following information:

·        Object type

·        Text in the source language

·        Text in the target language

·        Object name

      6.      Select the texts and choose Translate.

You reach the SAP translation tool, where you can enter the texts in the target language next to the texts in the source language.

      7.      Choose Save.

Result

If you open a session in the target language, the translated text elements are displayed.
