Editing Scopes of Application
You use this procedure to define scope of application entries for the following objects:
● Change states of recipes
● Formulas
In Customizing for Scopes of Application, you have:
● Defined the ratings and validity areas for which you want to use your recipes and formulas.
● Made the settings for the status of the scope of application (see Statuses for the Scope of Application for Recipes and Statuses for the Scope of Application for Formulas).
For recipes, the additional system status Application Scope Restricted must be set for the relevant change state.

1.
Load the object to
which you want to assign scope of application entries and choose the
Scope of Application tab
page.
All scope of application entries created for the change state are displayed irrespective of their validity periods.

If you only
want to display scope of application entries whose validity period contains
the key date you entered in the initial screen, choose
with the
quick info text Key Date.
If you choose
with the quick info text History, all
scope of application entries are displayed again.
2. To create a new scope of application entry, enter its usage, this means, rating and validity area.
You cannot change this data for existing scope of application entries.
3. Enter the validity period for the scope of application entry. Note the following:
○ The validity periods of scope of application entries whose usage is identical may not overlap.
○ By assigning a change number, you can link a scope of application entry with a change master record. The valid-from date is then taken over from the change master record. It applies to all objects that have been edited with the change master record and can be changed later on.
○ When you overwrite the valid-from date or change number of an existing scope of application entry, a new scope of application entry is created with the same rating and validity area. The new valid-from date must be before the valid-to date of the existing scope of application entry. If it is within the validity period of the preceding scope of application entry, this scope of application entry is shortened accordingly.
4. Confirm your entries.
Your entries are checked and taken over. New scope of application entries are automatically assigned the initial status defined in your system settings.
5. Choose the status you want to assign.
The input help provides a list of the next statuses allowed according to the status network.
6. If required, enter a person responsible for the scope of application entry.
7. Save your entries.
