First Steps in Recipe Editing
This section provides you with an overview of the functions that are available when you access recipe editing and the points you must bear in mind. You learn how to create the basic data for a recipe and access existing recipes. Based on this, you can then enter the detailed data for the different subject areas in the recipe.
To edit recipes, use the recipe workbench to call up the Recipe Information System.

Description |
You create the first change state of a recipe. You specify the name and type of the recipe and the validity of the first change state (according to time and lot size). Depending on the initial situation, you either create a completely new recipe or copy a change state of an existing recipe. |
You load an existing recipe and create a new change state for it whose validity as regards time is after the valid-from date of the recipe. By specifying the valid-from date of the new change state, you also shorten the validity of the preceding change state. |
You create a version for a recipe. In Customizing you define recipe types, for which versions can be created. To create a version, copy the recipe data and adapt it to your requirements. |
You create a draft for a version. You can create drafts independently of a version, but only for objects that support versioning. Drafts do not have a validity period or a status. |
You load a change state of an existing recipe and change the data of this change state. The changes are valid for the entire validity period of the change state. |
You load a change state of an existing recipe and display its data. |
