Including Employee Data in Personnel Cost
Planning
When you create a personnel cost plan you define whether you want to include employee data in personnel cost planning. This has the following effects:
· Do not include employee data
In the cost planning run, the system only uses the data basis for organizational objects to generate plan data. That is, it reads all infotype records of the Planning of Personnel Costs infotype (5010) for organizational objects you select for the cost planning run. It only includes the subtype you specify as the data basis for organizational objects.
If no infotype record exists for a position and the position is occupied or vacant, the system uses an alternative evaluation path to still determine the plan data for the position. You define in Customizing which data the system is to use in such cases. As standard, the system uses the data from the job related with the position. As an alternative, you could use the data of a customer-specific object, for example.
If a position is neither occupied nor vacant, the system does not include it in the plan.
· Include employee data
The system uses the data basis for employees to generate plan data. That is, it reads all infotype records of the Planning of Personnel Costs infotype (0666) for the employees related with the organizational objects you select for the cost planning run. It only includes the subtype you specify as the data basis for employees.
If a position is not occupied but vacant, the system accesses the relevant infotype record of the Planning of Personnel Costs infotype (5010) for the position. If no infotype record exists for the position, the system uses the alternative evaluation path mentioned above.
If the position is not occupied for the entire duration of the planning period, the system uses the employee data from the period when the position is occupied. If the position is vacant for the remainder of the planning period, the system uses the position data, or an alternative evaluation path, during this period.
In the following cases, the system does not include the position in the plan:
¡ The position is neither occupied nor vacant.
¡ The position is occupied, but no employee data is available.
The following figure illustrates which data basis the system uses for the personnel cost plan in the cases mentioned:
