Function documentation Determining the Receivable Amount to be Collateralized Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function explains how the system determines the amount of the receivable that is to be secured, when you assign the receivable to a portion of a collateral agreement, in the Collateral Scope tab page. The receivable amount that the system determines for the collateral agreement portion – receivable assignment, is displayed in the Calculations tab page as RBL Secured Amount – Current Risk and RBL Secured Amount – Maximum Risk.

Component type

These criteria determine the following possibilities for the collateral agreement portion – receivable assignment:

·        You can link each of the receivable component types (principal, interest and fees) to a collateral agreement portion only once.

·        You can divide the receivable with the Principal component type into first, middle and last portions.

¡        You can link the first and last receivable portions to a collateral agreement portion only once.

¡        You can link the multiple middle portions to the same collateral agreement portion more than once.

Note

This is possible only if there is no overlap of the amounts secured for the receivable portions.

The system therefore uses the component type and the receivable portion, to determine the receivable amount to be secured for each collateral agreement portion – receivable assignment.

The possible ways in which the receivable portions and their components can be assigned to the collateral agreement portions, to determine the amount of the receivable to be secured, are explained as follows:

Scenario 1: When the component type assigned is Principal and no receivable portions are specified:

·        If no receivable amount is specified,

Receivable amount specified in the assignment (Range)

= Principal amount of the receivable

= from [0] to [principal amount of the receivable]

·        If secured receivable amount is specified, then,

Receivable amount specified in the assignment (Range)

= secured receivable amount

= from [0] to [secured receivable amount]

·        If secured receivable percentage is specified, then,

Receivable amount specified in the assignment (Range)

= x% of receivable principal amount (where x is the percentage specified)

= from [0] to [x% of receivable principal amount]

= from [0] to [secured receivable amount]

Scenario 3: When component type specified is Principal and the Middle portions of the receivable are assigned:

·        If secured receivable amount and reference receivable amount are specified, then,

Receivable amount specified in the assignment (Range)

= from [reference receivable amount] to [reference receivable amount + secured receivable amount)

·        If receivable percentage and reference receivable amount are specified, then,

Receivable amount specified in the assignment (Range)

= from [reference receivable amount] to [x% of principal amount of the receivable + reference receivable amount]

·        If secured receivable amount and reference receivable percentage are specified, then,

Receivable amount specified in the assignment (Range)

= from [x% of principal amount of the receivable] to [x% principal amount of the receivable + secured receivable amount]

·        If receivable percentage and reference receivable percentage are specified, then,

= from [x% of principal amount of the receivable] to [y% of principal amount of the receivable + x% of principal amount of the receivable]
