Process documentation Analysis of Compositions and Combinations Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

In practice, an agent usually comprises a number of constituents (substances). These constituents are stored in specification management in the form of a composition. In addition to this, an agent often does not occur alone, but in combination with other agents.

In contrast to single-substance agents, you cannot assess agents with compositions using the analysis method measured value-reference value comparison because, as a rule, no reference values exist for such substances. You must therefore analyze the constituents individually first and then make a summated evaluation. This summated evaluation is particularly important for cases in which no risk is present based on the measured individual values of agents, but where in combination they can pose a risk for humans and the environment.

The function that supports you with the analyis of agents with compositions and with the analysis of agents that occur in combination is the analysis method summated rating.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters, you have specified in the environment parameter IHS_ERQT_ANLS_ESTCAT which value assignment type the system reads the composition from. The value assignment type must have the value assignment category C (composition). In the standard system, the value assignment type Hazardous ingredients (SAP_EHS_1012_004) is assigned to IHS_ERQT_ANLS_ESTCAT.

The system then displays the measurements for the agents determined in this manner.
