Function documentation Preferred Recipe Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to specify that a recipe has priority for use in the standard explosion if several recipes exist with the same primary output.

Integration

You can also set the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text indicator with the quick info Std Explosion for the formula output item in the formula. If both the Preferred Recipe indicator and the Standard Explosion indicator for the formula are set, the Preferred Recipe indicator has priority.

Prerequisites

·        If you want to define additional checks for setting the Preferred Recipe indicator, you can use the Checking the Preference Indicator of a Recipe BAdI (RCP_PREF_RCP_CHECK). An inactive implementation is supplied with the system that functions so that you can only set the indicator if the recipe is consistent. For more information, see Customizing for Recipes under BAdI: Checking the Preference Indicator of a Recipe.

Features

·        This function applies to primary outputs

·        You set the Preferred Recipe indicator at recipe level and for the primary output of the last stage (if the last stage exists) or for the primary output of the formula (if no stage exists)

·        You only set the Preferred Recipe indicator for a single recipe from several recipes with the same primary output within the current validity area

·        If you want to set the indicator for a different recipe for the primary output, you have to confirm this in a dialog box provided that a suitable recipe exists for this validity area. The system then sets the Preferred Recipe indicator for the “new” recipe and automatically deselects the indicator for the “old” recipe.

·        The Preferred Recipe indicator is always available at recipe level

·        You can also use the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text indicator with the quick info Std Explosion at formula level:

¡        Dependent formula:

Automatic activation or deactivation of the Preferred Recipe indicator at formula level, if you change how the indicator is set at recipe level. You cannot use the standard explosion indicator in the formula for the primary output. You can only select the indicator for a secondary output.

¡        Independent formula:

§         You can use the Standard Explosion indicator for both the primary and the secondary output

§         The Preferred Recipe indicator at recipe level is independent of the formula level

§         If you set the Preferred Recipe indicator, the system automatically sets the indicator at formula level too

§         If the formula can no longer be changed, you can no longer change how the Preferred Recipe indicator is set at recipe level

Caution

If you also want to be able to use the indicator for the standard explosion after you have upgraded the release, execute the RCP_DEFEXPL_SET report.

·        If you set the recipe status to Obsolete, the system automatically deletes the Preferred Recipe indicator

·        If you extend the validity area on the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Basic Data recipe tab page, the system deselects the Preferred Recipe indicator. If you restrict the validity area, the indicator stays selected.

·        If you copy a recipe or a dependent stage, the system does not copy the Preferred Recipe indicator to the recipe or formula level

Activities

·        Set the indicator by choosing the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon with the quick info Sel./Deselect Preferred Recipe on the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Basic Data tab page for the recipe. You can also deselect the indicator here.

·        The system displays the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text indicator with the quick info Std Explosion on the Input and Output tab page for the formula

·        If the Preferred Recipe indicator has been selected for a recipe, the system displays this in the hit list in the recipe information system
