Special Security Valuation 
In the special security valuation a distinction is made between the following types:
· Special write-up/write down - mandatory
· Special write-up/write-down - exercised right
· The special securities valuation is a special form of security valuation which is carried out as part of the key date valuation if certain requirements are met (see below).
· The special security valuation can only be carried out as part of the valuation for securities.

· Define update types for the special security valuation depending on the type of special valuation on the Special Valuation tab page. The update types are defined for position management procedures to which a security valuation procedure (that enables special write ups/downs) was assigned. You can find this tab page in Customizing under Transaction Manager -> General Settings -> Accounting -> Parallel Valuation Areas -> Key Date Valuation -> Update Types -> Assign Update Types for Valuation.

Define the update types under Transaction Manager -> General Settings -> Accounting -> Parallel Valuation Areas -> Key Date Valuation -> Update Types -> Define Update Types and assign the update types to the usage Key Date Valuation under Assign Update Type to Usages.
Since update types are relevant for posting, you must also enter posting information for the update types under Transaction Manager ® General Settings ® Accounting ® Parallel Valuation Areas ® Link to Other Accounting Components ® Define Account Determination.
· You can enter prices for the special valuation in a separate table which you call from view VALV_SP_VAL_SEC (with transaction SM30).
